Notice 08-17-2026 : BECI765-kV Transmission Project Open House is scheduled in our area on Thursday, August 27 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Lake Lawn Lodge on 2400 E. Geneva Street in Delavan. At this time there will be a virtual open house and online comment card and map showing the study segments which are available. They are asking public feedback by Monday, September 7th . This project is 190 miles from Crawford County all way through Walworth County before getting to Illinois utility.

As you are traveling over the 39 miles of roadway, you could have passed three parks or have seen many acres of planted corn, beans, or wheat. There may be a few pigs, cows, or horses grazing in the fields.
While you are driving, you may have crossed any of eight miles of Turtle Creek which runs from Delavan through Town of Darien to reach the county line at the Town of Bradford. The creek is used recreational by all; either by fishing, kayaking, or canoeing.
